At the 1976 Montreal Olympic Games was the moment she made history by becoming the first person who scored a perfect 10 in bars that were symmetrical. In addition, she was able to score six more perfect tens to be one of the youngest Olympic Gold medalist. The accomplishment of Nadia Comaneci was not only to attract attention from all over the world, she also brought Romania on the map. A sports legend came into spotlight by achieving an unachievable score, thus becoming a hero and spreading the word about gymnastics as a sport all over all over the world. People's perception of female sportspeople was changed by this feat. The impact she had on the Olympics was so great that two of her moves such as the toe-on movement as well as the release move were designated in honor of her.
